Funding Opportunities for your Ideas
The University of Bonn offers early-career researchers a wide range of support in the area of research funding, as well as various internal funding lines, for example within the framework of the Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRA). We support you in finding and acquiring the right funding for your project!
Transdisciplinary Research Areas (TRA)
The six transdisciplinary research areas (TRAs) at the University of Bonn offer a wide range of funding opportunities for their members (and those who are interested in becoming members).
University Funding Lines
The University of Bonn has set up its own funding programs to provide its researchers with the best possible support for their work. These programs are designed in particular to strengthen the careers of women and promote international cooperation.
Third-party Funding
We are happy to assist you in finding and applying for the right third-party funding for your project. Make an appointment and receive personalized advice.
Incentive system for junior research group leaders
Are you considering applying for a third-party-funded junior research group (e.g., the DFG's Emmy Noether Program, NRW Return Program)? Or would you like to move to the University of Bonn with a junior research group?
Good news! In addition to the funds they have raised, junior research group leaders receive a material grant that they can spend freely for research purposes.
By the way: Female junior research group leaders receive additional funds to advance their research in the best possible way and increase its visibility, for example by hiring an assistant to help them better balance family and academic careers.
University of Bonn Funding Lines
The various funding lines give you the opportunity to gain scientific independence, sharpen your international profile, and expand your scientific network, for example through an Argelander Mobility Grant. In addition, the University of Bonn offers many other funding opportunities, particularly to support women in science. Another focus is on scientists from countries in the Global South, who are to be invited to stay at the University of Bonn through dedicated funding programs.
