Nachhaltiger November

Campaign Month "Nachhaltiger November"

The University of Bonn invites all its members to take part in the many varied initiatives and events about sustainability as well as to come up with ideas for own campaigns.

Nachhaltiger November 2023

This year too, the “Nachhaltiger November” campaign month promises you some fantastic sustainability-themed initiatives and activities.

Public Climate School 11/2023

Change starts with education!

That is the slogan marking the re-opening this year of the Students for Future Public Climate School.

Students for Future groups from all over Germany will be partnering with climate education organization Klimabildung for a varied week-long program in which they present their concepts for a new era in education. The local program anchored at the University of Bonn will be taking place throughout the entire month of November!

The Germany-wide online program dates are from November 20-24, 2023

The program for local events at the University of Bonn can be found here (as soon as possible).
University lecturers will be opening up the doors of their classes and lectures to all interested students, inviting them to find out more about sustainability and climate protection beyond what they might be learning in their own field of study.

Don’t miss this opportunity!

Sustainable, easy and delicious - healthy recipe short videos from NEiS

Cooking during Nachhaltiger November

What yummy things can you make out of leftovers? What vegetables are in season in fall and winter? And what things can you try out when having a relaxed evening making dinner with fellow students?

Three recipe videos made as part of the NEiS project conducted by the Consumer Advocacy Center of North Rhine-Westphalia (Verbraucherzentrale NRW) provide excellent recipe ideas for easy-to-make meals that are both tasty and healthy.
The videos will be posted on the Instagram account @nachhaltige_unibonn on November 6th, 13th and 23rd.

We hope you have a great time trying out the recipes!

NEiS is funded by the North Rhine-Westphalia state Ministry of Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

"Trash-Up": Upcycling - Workshops in the Bundeskunsthalle 22.11. & 29.11.2023

Can we throw that junk away, or is it art?

At the interactive workshops to be held at the Bundeskunsthalle art gallery, it's the latter!

A blast from the past: at the workshop we’ll turn your ancient LP records and audio cassettes into practical and attractive new items, so make sure to bring your old vinyl and cassettes along with you!

The current exhibition of the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn “EVERYTHING AT ONCE: THE POSTMODERN PERIOD, 1967-1992” will activate your ability to think outside the box and challenge your creativity. And the great is that EVERYBODY can take part, regardless of any previous artistic experience.

The workshop will be held on two dates in November:

  •  Wednesday, November 22 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm and
  • Wednesday, November 29, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm

You can register, specifying your desired date, here.

The available places will be assigned to those who registered by random drawing promptly in advance of the first workshop.

Further information on the exhibition in the Bundeskunsthalle can be found here.

Healthy Campus Week 20.-24.11.2023

Taking time for nutrition and health

The second Healthy Campus Week event of the year is coming up, with topics revolving around health, nutrition and exercise.

On November 21-22, lots of different stands will be set up as part of the event, and there will be activities you can get involved in at the CAMPO Mensa, like a nutrition quiz where you can win great prizes.

All student canteens will be offering specially balanced lunches during the campaign week—a different one every day—planned in cooperation with the Institute of Nutritional and Food Science (IEL), including a vegan lunch on three out of five days of the week!
