Bonn International Graduate Schools (BIGS), the University of Bonn's structured framework of graduate schools, offer excellent doctoral programs conforming to the highest international standards. They provide graduate students with outstanding research conditions, access to international research partnerships and educational programs tailored to their needs. BIGS provide the best possible preparation to embark on a high-level career in research and beyond. 




Doctorate plusBIGS is a a skills and training program offered exclusively for doctoral researchers from the BIGS. Doctorate plusBIGS offers various courses from half-day trainings to language courses throughout the entire semester. Located at the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics and supported by Germany’s Excellence Initiative, BIGS-M is home to all of the University’s doctoral candidates in mathematics and contributes to Bonn’s excellent international reputation in the field.

The Council of BIGS representatives, chaired by the Prof. Dr. Andreas Zimmer, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, promotes the founding of additional graduate schools and offers guidance. The Rectorate decides whether a graduate school will be admitted to BIGS.

Bonn Graduate Center (BGC) acts as managing office for the BIGS association. If you would like to join the BIGS association or have any questions, contact the Bonn Graduate Center team.
