Student Orientation Weeks

During “Student Orientation Weeks,” many universities in North Rhine-Westphalia invite high school students to visit their campuses, learn more about what it’s like to study there, and benefit from special advising opportunities. The University of Bonn and its individual departments are part of this state-wide program every year, offering a diverse range of services and events.

Academic Advising Night

“Last-minute” counseling before the deadline arrives: This event is designed for prospective students who wish to begin their studies in the winter semester and still have questions about choosing a degree program and applying for admission – our advisors are here to help them begin their studies successfully.

Fairs are another great opportunity to grab information and discuss academic opportunities at the University of Bonn with counselors from the Central Study Advisory and Counseling Service and the University departments.

The higher education area around Bonn offers prospective students hundreds of degree programs to choose from. The Bonn University Fair, organized by the career counseling office of the Bonn Employment Agency, helps high school graduates get an overview and find the right option.

Taster Program

Sit in on selected courses to get a realistic impression of a given field of study and a taste of what it’s like to be a university student.

Youth University (Junge Uni)

Would you like to know what scientists and students at the University of Bonn are doing their research on? Do you feel like visiting one of our many institutes or listening to a lecture in an auditorium? Then this event is made for you! Browse our website to learn more about our program, which includes children’s university, science races, and special offerings at our museums, as well as programs to help you prepare for university. Youth University is also the right place to start when contacting people at individual University departments. In addition, we have compiled key university terminology in a special Youth University glossary. Feel free to look around!

Promoting young academic talent

21 Jahre Frühstudium an der Uni Bonn: Fördern, Fordern. Forschen

The University of Bonn created the FFF project to give talented and especially motivated high school students from Bonn and the surrounding areas the opportunity to participate in university-level coursework. They are introduced to the basic principles of research and get to enhance their systematic and analytical thinking skills.
