Bonner Forum Biomedizin

The  Bonn Biomedicine Forum (BFB) has been an important member of the Bonn Life Science community since its formation in mid-1990s to bring together scientists from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences within an interdisciplinary network. The BFB focuses on supporting early-career researchers through workshops, advise on life sciences career paths, laboratory materials sharing and networking events. The TRA Life and Health works closely together with the BFB, which recruits candidates to represent early-career researchers on the TRA steering committee.

Bonn Technology Campus Life Sciences

Housed within the Faculty of Medicine, the Bonn Technology CampusLife Sciences is a set of core facilities equipped with various state-of-the-art technologies and systems at the disposal of research users. Resources and research infrastructures of other faculties are brought to the attention of the Bonn life science community and made available as well. The TRA Life and Health supports the creation of inter-faculty research infrastructures.

We work closely together with EnaCom, the University of Bonn’s Transfer Center, to promote the transfer of research results. Innovation Scouts identify transfer potential within the TRAs and specifically inform scientists in regard to technology transfer and start-up-related considerations. They also assist in establishing a relationship with EnaCom.

Extra-university partners

Valuable interaction takes place with non-university research organizations located within the region, including the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), the Max-Planck-Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior and the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems. We additionally cooperate with the technology platform LIFE & BRAIN (life & brain GmbH, Bonn).
