Academic Writing (Natural Sciences)

Two-day workshop offered by the Bonn Graduate Center on March 07 and 08, 2019, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Alte Sternwarte, Poppeldorfer Allee 47, Room Pegasus (0.003).


 Course Content

This workshop will focus on the basics of academic scientific writing in English and on how best to approach your writing project. Topics include:

  • the structure of a scientific paper
  • planning your writing
  • presenting research results
  • writing effective introductions and conclusions
  • composing abstracts
  • academic style
  • correctness: sentence structure, false friends, punctuation
  • reviewing and editing your scientific texts
