Four-day workshop offered by the Bonn Graduate Center on March 14, 15, 21 and 22, 2019, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Alte Sternwarte, Poppelsdorfer Allee 47


Course Content 

Do you speak English but sometimes make mistakes or find yourself missing the right expression or idiom? Do you know English grammar but are sometimes confused by the exceptions or more complicated rules? Would you like to take your language skills to the next level and feel more at ease when conversing in English? Then this course is just right for you.

English is becoming more and more important in everyday life but especially in the academic environment. This course aims to help you gain more confidence when giving a presentation in English or networking at an international conference. It is specifically designed as a refresher course for young academics that need English in their professional life.  

This workshop is intended for doctoral researchers who wish to improve their English language skills through an intensive course.

The topics will include the following: 

  • speaking and conversation
  • giving presentations
  • grammar review 
  • vocabulary exercises
  • letter and email writing
  • articles and discussions

Target Group

Doctoral candidates from all subject areas.
