This full-day training supports doctoral students from all faculties and institutions at the University of Bonn in developing practical intercultural communication skills for everyday academic life.
Content and Methods
• Definitions and basics of intercultural communication and intercultural competence
• Critical incidents from doctoral contexts (research groups, labs, supervision)
• Guided reflection and interactive exercises
• Small group work to analyze intercultural challenges in academic contexts and to develop concrete, practice-oriented strategies for action
Target group: International and German doctoral students from all disciplines
Students completing the seminar are credited 20 points toward the D1 component for the Certificate of Intercultural Competency.
