Third-Party Funds and Projects

Some indicators of the success of Bonn’s researchers include two Nobel Prizes, numerous Leibniz Prizes and other academic honors as well as “third-party funds” amounting to about 154 million euros, which are raised each year in stiff competition with other researchers. In particular, the joint projects funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) speak to the quality of our research.

In order to compete with higher-education institutions around the globe, we have significantly expanded our services for international scholars. Our Welcome Center quickly helps researchers from all over the world feel at home on the Rhine. That is why Bonn is the first choice for many international scholars today – like the recipients of funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the DAAD.
