In addition to the Bonn Graduate Center’s Doctorate Plus training courses and assistance in finding funding opportunities, the Argelander Program for Early-Career Researchers includes a broad range of other support services to help you throughout your studies.

Professional Development

  • Bonn Graduate Center is the central point of contact for all non-academic issues regarding doctoral research in Bonn such as individual consultions, funding opportunites, skills and training programm as well as good scientific practice.
  • Career Center is a service institution for students and graduates and advises on questions about career guidance and starting your career and offers seminars and events on the topics of application procedures and career planning.
  • Gender Equality Office is the point of contact for all women working, studying, teaching or researching at the university and its aims include promoting female junior researchers and improving the reconciliation of science, studies, job and family.
  • Bonner Zentrum für Hochschullehre (Bonn Center for University Teaching) is a central institution which offers support and services for teaching and covers didactic support, trainings for program managers and cross-disciplinary offerings for students.
  • HR Development Department supports all status groups in matters relating to the diversity and planning of career paths as well as to the acquisition of competencies by individuals and by the university itself. [website in German]

Personal Support

  • Family Office caters to the needs of all university members with questions about the compatibility of family and career, such as e.g. maternity or parental leave, childcare and benefits for families.
  • Conflict Counseling counsels employees, managers, trainees, doctoral researchers and members of the University of Bonn individually, discreetly, solution-oriented and confidentially. [website in German]
