University of Bonn — Open to all

Global Exchange Program: Studying in Bonn for a semester or year

The Global Exchange Program opens a path for students at the University of Bonn’s partner universities outside Europe to study for a year or a semester at the University of Bonn. Nearly 100 different degree programs are offered, as well as a diverse range of courses to help program participants master the German language.

Program Objectives

The Global Exchange Program was founded to provide international students worldwide with the chance to spend a portion of their studies (one or two semesters) in Bonn. It offers students an unparalleled opportunity to expand their intercultural competencies while still studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree by integrating them into daily life at a German university and the larger German society. The Global Exchange Program’s focus on improving students’ German language abilities is a major attraction, as this exposure to a German-language environment can later significantly improve a graduate’s career chances.
