CV Check: Tips on How to Design Your CV
This CV Check is held in German. You need at least B2-level.
As well as a check of your Bewerbungsmappencheck and the Karriere-Sprechstunde, the Career Service at the University of Bonn also offers a 15-minute in-person CV Check once a month.
Do you find yourself wondering
- how you can make your CV attractive when applying for part-time jobs, internships or jobs for after you finish your studies;
- what to include in your CV and what to leave out; and
- whether your CV has a “common thread” running through it?
If so, the CV Check is just what you need.
Documents required:
Please bring the following documents along to your consultation:
- your current CV, either printed out or in electronic form (on a laptop or tablet)
Important Note:
- CV Checks are exempt from the rule that you can only book a maximum of three Career Service workshops and/or consultations per semester.
General information on the CV Check
- Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students or those preparing for a state examination at the University of Bonn
- No, you do not need to book in advance.
- However, you should factor in some waiting time.
- The CV Checks take place in person at Poppelsdorfer Allee 49, Room 3.003.
- Please take a chair in the corridor, and someone will come and fetch you for your consultation.
- Fifteen-minute CV Checks are offered between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm on a Wednesday afternoon once a month.
- 2:30 pm to 2:45 pm
- 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm
- 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm
- 3:15 pm to 3:30 pm
- We do not consider application packs as part of our CV Checks.
- They focus exclusively on looking through a CV together, not a whole application pack.
- We do not provide careers advice as part of our CV Checks. You can ask questions about your personal career planning during the Karriere-Sprechstunde offered by the Career Service.
- The CV Check is held in German. You need at least B2 level.
