Meet the University.

Events and Fairs

In cooperation with the University departments and other partners, we regularly offer events and fairs for high school students, prospective students, university students and other target groups. On campus, off campus and online.

University of Bonn Days

First-hand information on studying in Bonn: During the University of Bonn Days, our University departments introduce themselves to prospective students through presentations, introductory lectures, institute and museum tours, workshops and one-on-one meetings.

Student Orientation Weeks

During “Student Orientation Weeks,” many universities in North Rhine-Westphalia offer special advisory services for high school students and the opportunity to collect information about their academic programs on campus. Every year, the University of Bonn and its individual departments take part in this state-wide campaign with a range of services and events.

Academic Advising Night

“Last-minute advising” before the application deadline arrives: This event is designed for prospective students who want to begin their studies in the winter semester and still have questions about their choice of program or the application process – our advisors are here to help them begin their studies successfully.

Bergfest

Made it halfway through your studies? Great! Come along to the Bergfest, refuel at the food truck, enjoy a free soft drink, relax with a yoga session and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Botanic Garden.

Make use of the empowerment stations, stroll along the poster walk, learn some relaxation techniques and visit the “advice market” for tips on spending time abroad or the topic of careers guidance.

We want the Bergfest to be an occasion where everyone can celebrate together and gear themselves up for the rest of their studies.

Theme Week: Doubts About Your Studies?

Each semester supporters from inside and outside the University offer a wealth of guidance and support on the following topics: doubts about your studies, changing degree programs/universities and withdrawing from university. Counseling and advice formats will range from fact-finding events, telephone and video consultations through to podcasts, videos and first-hand reports from people who have withdrawn from university.

Fuck Up Stories - Student Edition

Too much social pressure? Chosen the wrong degree program? Overwhelmed or even expelled from the University? Having doubts about one’s studies has become a widespread phenomenon. Our “Fuck Up Stories” (FUS) are testimony to that. At these events, held on a regular basis, courageous young people talk about their failure to succeed at university, their shattered career plans and what they did after dropping out.

Fairs

Fairs are another way to meet counselors from the Central Study Advisory and Counseling Service and from individual departments to talk about studying at the University of Bonn and to collect informational materials.

Youth University (Junge Uni)

Would you like to know what scientists and students at the University of Bonn are currently doing their research on? Do you feel like visiting one of the University’s many institutes or hearing a lecture in a lecture hall? Then Youth University is made for you! Explore the Youth University pages to learn about our wide range of opportunities, including university courses for children, scientific rallies, museum programs and preparatory courses. Our website is also the place to find the right person to talk to in each University department and to learn about key university terminology in a Youth University glossary specifically compiled for young readers. Feel free to browse!
