Vacation childcare

Since 2020, the Office of Family Services has been offering regular vacation childcare for children of employees and students at the University of Bonn, aged between four and 13.

Care is provided annually at the following times:

• The second week of the Easter holidays
• The second week of the fall holidays
• The six weeks of the summer holidays 

A maximum of 15-20 children are cared for all day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and receive a warm meal. In addition to sports and board games, creative activities are part of the program as well.

Vacation care periods:

Easter:         April 7–10, 2026

Summer:     July 20 to August 28, 2026

Fall:              October 26–30, 2026

Daily, 8 am to 5 pm

Locations for childcare:

Easter/fall break:    AVZ, Römerstraße

Summer break:       University Sports facility, Nachtigallenweg

Costs:

Care during Easter vacation costs 60 euros per child, 30 euros for additional siblings. That includes potential entrance fees for trips as well as drinks and lunch.

Starting in the summer vacation of 2026, the parental contribution for vacation childcare will be 90 euros per week and 45 euros per week for siblings.
