The Karriere-Sprechstunde is held in German. You need at least B2-level.

The University of Bonn Career Service provides careers guidance and advice about career entry through the Karriere-Sprechstunde.

What can I or do I want to do for a living after I graduate?

Please note:

The Karriere-Sprechstunde does not provide a CV or application pack checking service.
The Karriere-Sprechstunde is exempt from the rule that you can only book a maximum of four Career Service workshops and/or consultations per semester.

Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students or those preparing for a state examination at the University of Bonn.

How can I access the Karriere-Sprechstunde service?

The Karriere-Sprechstunde takes place in person at Poppelsdorfer Allee 49, room 3.003, via Zoom or by telephone.

In which language is the Karriere-Sprechstunde offered?

The Karriere-Sprechstunde is held in German. You need at least B2-level.

Are there career counselling sessions specifically for international students in English?

Besides its Karriere-Sprechstunde, the Career Service at the University of Bonn also offers brief career consultations geared specifically to international students. These Career Service Appointments will be conducted in English and will focus on getting into the German job market. Here you can find further information.

What else do I have to consider?

Our Karriere-Sprechstunde provides general careers advice. Please be aware that degree program-specific questions regarding your career cannot be discussed in such detail during the Karriere-Sprechstunde as would be the case in a consultation as part your degree program.

The following time-slots are usually available on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

2:30 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.
3:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
3:30 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.

Information regarding registration:

Registration is required for the Karriere-Sprechstunde.
Registration is possible at the earliest four weeks before the desired date.
Registration must be made at least 24 hours before the desired date.
Registrations are only possible for the sessions listed here.
To register, you will need a current CV (no more than one month old) in pdf format. Your application cannot be considered without a CV.

Registration:

There will be no Karriere-Sprechstunde from April 3rd to 13th, 2026. The time-slots for April 14th, 16th and 21rst are already fully booked. Therefore please register only for appointments starting April 23rd, 2026. Registrations received on or after April 2, 2026, will be processed starting April 13, 2026, in the order in which they are received.
