The University of Bonn, Northwestern and Arcadia Universities

invite highly motivated international undergraduate students from various academic backgrounds to the 7th Summer School on Renewable Energy: Policy and Development. Experts from the University of Bonn, well-known international organizations and research institutes like IRENA and the National Research Center Jülich will introduce students to current discussions, research and policy efforts on renewable energy, with a special focus on conflicts associated with the topic. The interactive exchange with experts from diverse fields also provides students with a glimpse into possible career paths.

The program offers:

  • a workshop on German culture at the beginning of the program, complemented by cultural visits and excursions throughout the program
  • a Buddy Program to interact with German students from the University of Bonn and experience hands-on campus life in Germany

"In Bonn I have met amazing people, learnt so much about a topic I am really interested in and visited several fantastic places. This summer was a really academically and personally rewarding experience, that I’ll never forget!"

"The combination of coursework and field trips definitely make this program stand out from the others."

"I have learnt so much about renewable energies in Germany. Moreover, the course had some important cultural components that allowed me to understand the German culture. This course was more than studying… it was an unforgettable experience!"
