How are researchers at the University of Bonn exploring the idea of sustainable agriculture? What exactly goes on at the University’s Klein-Altendorf research site? And who even are the researchers? Around 1,400 guests found all this and more out for themselves on their visit to the open house.

The Klein-Altendorf Campus is now much more than what it used to be known for, i.e. the home of the University of Bonn’s off-site laboratories and crop production research.

At the open house, for example, visitors of all ages could find out how quickly plants grow, how shredded apple trees can be used for heating and how to insulate homes in an eco-friendly way. This is because researchers at the campus are also looking into sustainable agriculture.
