Nagoya Protocol

The Nagoya Protocol establishes mandatory rules for access to genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge and defines rules for the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilization. It implements the access and benefit-sharing obligations of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and entered into force in Germany on October 12, 2014.
