Our research focuses on plant biotechnology and applied bioinformatics, using genomics and transcriptomics to explore biosynthetic pathways in plants. We transfer plant biosynthetic genes into microorganisms to produce valuable plant-derived compounds. While flavonoid biosynthesis is our core model, we also investigate pathways with biomedical significance, including camptothecin and withanolides. We also collaborate with group from medical sciences by conducing computational analyses on animal or viral data sets.
