Across Cultures: From Awareness to Understanding to Action
In this workshop you will get a basic introduction into what culture is and a better understanding of your own cultural standards. We will be looking at sociological, psychological and linguistic models and also rely on the intercultural experiences of participating students to achieve the abovementioned goals. In addition, you will learn to reflect on your own intercultural experiences.
The workshop combines theoretical input with practical exercises and is open to all students independent of whether they have prior international experiences and/or plans to study abroad or not.
Focus: Basic cultural awareness, learning about cultural differences, preparation and follow-up for stays abroad, working with real case studies
Target group: all interested students
Students completing the seminar are credited 15 points toward the D1 component for the Certificate of Intercultural Competency.
