A New Phase of Excellence
The ImmunoSensation3 project is launching its new funding phase, building on previous findings to explore the diversity of the immune system across various levels. As a dynamic system, the immune system’s structure, function, and dynamics depend on genetic and environmental factors, lifestyle, sex, pre-existing conditions, and age. These influences manifest at the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels. The resulting constant change and natural variety within the immune system is known as "immune diversity."

Individualized and Precision Approaches
Immune system diversity forms the basis for adaptability, enabling an individualized immune response to pathogens or tissue damage—such as that seen in Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, heart attacks, or rheumatism. The goal of ImmunoSensation3 is to gain a better understanding of immune system variability in order to facilitate individualized, precision approaches to diagnostics, prevention, and therapy.
