Teaching Bachelor

Biology is the science of life and living organisms. It describes and examines manifestations of living organisms, their inner processes, and their interrelationships.

Besides the so-called “classical” subareas of biology such as botany, zoology or microbiology, a broad spectrum of other biological disciplines has unfolded in the course of time – such as molecular biology, genetics, immunobiology, evolution theory, behavioral research, neurobiology, cell biology, ecology, or biotechnology, to name just a few. What’s more, there are a growing number of subdisciplines that represent a combination with other natural sciences, including among others biochemistry, biomathematics, bioinformatics, human biology, biomedicine, bionics, and agrobiology.

The field of biology at the University of Bonn stands out for its broad spectrum of topics, which is reflected in its bachelor’s degree program.

In teaching degree programs for grammar and comprehensive schools, students choose two school subjects. Thus, in addition to biology, students are enrolled for a second subject as well as educational sciences.
