Artificial Intelligence
The degree program in Artificial Intelligence looks at the development, analysis and use of smart, computer-aided systems that are capable of learning from data, solving complex problems and making decisions autonomously. It is rooted in the field of computer science and combines theoretical principles with the latest research approaches in artificial intelligence (AI). Building on a thorough grounding in computer science, the degree program teaches in-depth specialist knowledge in areas such as machine learning, data analysis, algorithmic methods and advanced AI models, supplemented by the mathematical and methodological foundations required to understand and develop powerful AI systems. Project-based, research-focused modules are another key component. These involve students working independently to tackle complex questions in a particular field that have been drawn from real-life situations and gaining practical experience in the process. The degree program also considers ethical, legal and societal aspects of AI. It is designed to give students the skills needed to develop AI-powered solutions underpinned by sound science, reflect on them critically and use them responsibly in different areas of application.
