The pursuit of scientific knowledge, religious beliefs and practices, media coverage and discussion, as well as political action and communication, all operate within areas of tension that shape our present and help determine our future. In this context, science faces key challenges: dealing with crises, the conditions for successful communication, and the question of whether—and how—shared truths are still possible or even important in a pluralistic society.

Against this backdrop, the Transdisciplinary Research Area (TRA) Individuals and Societies (TRA IS for short) is organizing a forum that explores the topic of “truth” from various perspectives. The goal is to create a space for informed exchange and engagement for researchers and the general public.
