These support teaching and research in the field of EU studies at higher-education institutions worldwide. The Jean Monnet Actions in the field of higher education are open to representatives from all disciplines who are involved in European integration studies. Key activities include courses, research, conferences and publications.

The Jean Monnet Actions

Jean Monnet Modules

These modules take the form of short curricula or courses in EU studies that are taught at a higher-education institution. They can either focus on a specific field or cover several disciplines.

Jean Monnet Chairs

Under Erasmus+, higher-education institutions can offer a dedicated chair to professors specializing in EU studies. The focus here is on teaching EU studies in greater depth.

Budget: €50,000

Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence

These centers of research, science and academia for EU-related topics pool the specialist knowledge and skills of high-caliber experts in order to generate synergy effects between disciplines and resources in European studies and establish joint transnational activities.

Budget: up to €100,000

Application advice from the DAAD

The DAAD hosts regular fact-finding sessions for anyone considering submitting an application and provides an up-to-date overview of Erasmus+ events on its website.

The service also offers an advice portal for cooperation projects, where you can ask general questions or obtain in-depth advice on your application.

The European Commission’s Project Results Platform contains an overview of projects that have been funded in the past. The DAAD’s web page Praxisbeispiele für Hochschulkooperationen also provides an insight into some of the projects that have received funding.
