Die Skandinavischen Filmtage Bonn sind eine studentische Kulturgruppe der Universität Bonn, die es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, aktuelle skandinavische und finnische Filme in Originalvertonung ins Rheinland zu bringen – und das bereits seit 1999. Wir bieten jährlich ein vielfältiges und spannendes Langfilmprogramm mit aktuellen Produktionen aus Dänemark, Finnland, Island, Norwegen und Schweden. Abgerundet wird das Filmfestival durch den beliebten Kurzfilmabend, in dessen Rahmen die Skandinavischen Filmtage mit renommierten Filmschulen zusammenarbeiten und somit auch jungen Filmemachern aus Skandinavien ein zusätzliches Forum bieten.

Willkommen im Akademischen Kunstmuseum Bonn – Überblicksführung in der Welt der Griechen, Römer und Etrusker
Antike Kunst erleben! Wir laden euch ein, die antike Welt der Griechen und Römer zu entdecken. Wir starten um 14 Uhr mit einer Führung durch unser Museum. Dabei stellen wir euch vier besondere Werke aus unterschiedlichen Materialien, Zeiten und Kulturen vor: von einer großen Statue des ersten römischen Kaisers Augustus über eine 2.500 Jahre alte Darstellung des berühmten griechischen Helden Herakles bis zu einem winzigen Schmuckstein mit einer besonderen Götterdarstellung. Im Anschluss könnt ihr euch an verschiedenen Bastel- und Kreativstationen mit den kennengelernten Themen und Kunstformen auseinandersetzen und euch ein bisschen wie eine antike Griechin oder ein antiker Römer fühlen. Für Kinder und Jugendliche (ab 8 Jahren). Die Veranstaltung wird finanziell unterstützt durch den Förderverein des Akademischen Kunstmuseums Bonn anlässlich seines 30-jährigen Jubiläums.

Tibetan Buddhist historiography tends towards a “borderland complex” that fueled fascination with, and pilgrimage to, holy sites in South Asia. Yet, focusing on central Nepal—as both a destination for devotees and a periphery from the perspective of the major sites of the Buddha’s life—problematises applying such discourse to modern times. Kathmandu’s Boudhanath Stūpa has on its own periphery a newly created “Ghyoilisang Pond and Peace Park” devoted to the eighth-century tantric master and “second Buddha,” Padmasambhava. This site expresses Tibetan, Newar, Tamang and other Himalayan identities as part of its architecture, iconography and as used by pilgrims, tourists and locals. Yet the park is also a leisure destination funded in part by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu and run by Nepali municipal administrators. This presentation analyses its ecology in relation to other sites visited by followers of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal that are both old and new.
First-year students in particular often find that learning at school and learning at university are two very different matters. In your final years of high school, you were told what to learn and possibly experienced guided learning settings. Learning at university, by contrast, requires a high degree of independence and self-organization. The workshop introduces participants to different learning methods and helps them develop individual strategies for different situations of learning. Target group: First-year students (primarily in their first program-related semester) What to expect? In active group work, you will become familiar with various learning techniques such as mind mapping, the loci method, reading techniques, etc. The second date in particular will be devoted to sharing experiences with regard to experimenting with and applying what you have learned in your daily study routines.

This talk will argue that there is a more ethical and empowering path forward with AI, but only when feminist thinking comes together with technical knowledge and community expertise. The focus is on prompting techniques and on using AI as a sparring partner for structured thinking, ideation, and exploration. Together, we will experiment with how AI can support you in identifying real-world applications for your ideas, from societal impact and industry use cases to innovation projects or entrepreneurial ideas. Starting a business can be one possible path, but it is not the goal of the workshop. No prior business or technical background is required. All you need is curiosity, openness, and an interest in exploring.

The Welcome Center would like to invite you (and your partners, family members or friends) for a hiking tour in Siebengebirge, opposite of Bonn on the other side of the Rhine. We will start at the ruins of the monastry Heisterbach and will walk around the back of mount Petersberg up to the top. At the top of the mountain we will stop for a rest, some refreshments at the beer-garden and of course the phantastic view unto the surrounding landscape. Afterwards we will head back down the mountain on a different path and return to the city by public transport. Pure walking time will be approximately 2 hours, depending on our pace. But we will go up- and downhill and partially rough terrain in the forest. So please wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Very small children should be carried, instead of using a pram. – Unconscious Bias erkennen und reduzieren In Berufungsverfahren gilt es, sowohl exzellente Wissenschaft sicherzustellen als auch Chancengerechtigkeit zu fördern. Dies erfordert reflektierte Entscheidungsprozesse. Häufig beeinflussen jedoch unbewusste Denkmuster – sogenannte Unconscious Biases – die Bewertung von Bewerber*innen. Im Rahmen des Workshops werden typische Biases wie Gender Bias, Ähnlichkeits-Bias sowie gruppendynamische Effekte, etwa Autoritätseffekte, systematisch reflektiert. Zudem werden Strategien zum Bias-Management vermittelt, die darauf abzielen, Berufungsverfahren objektiv, gender- und diversitätssensibel sowie exzellenzorientiert zu gestalten. Ziel ist es, Entscheidungen auf einer fundierten, differenzierten und fairen Basis zu treffen, die sowohl wissenschaftliche Leistungen als auch Vielfalt berücksichtigt. Durch kurze fachliche Inputs, praxisnahe Reflexionen und den Austausch von Erfahrungen wird die Sensibilität für unbewusste Verzerrungen geschärft.
