Content

What is leadership? Basic definition + important approaches (transformational, transactional, situative and servant leadership styles as examples for scientific approaches)
The four roles of a leader: Entrepreneur, Coach, Expert, Human
Classic leadership tools: managing expectations, delegating tasks within a team, giving good feedback, managing difficult conversations and conflicts, typical leadership instruments in organizations
Communication fundamentals: (active) listening and asking powerful questions
Leading yourself: basic time and self management
Motivation and fairness perception
Understanding team dynamics
Leading and facilitating teams: Learning and trying a simple retrospective method to initiate change and learning within teams

Is there a charge for the event?

No. Human Resources Development will cover the costs.

An event is fully booked, is there a waiting list?

Yes, if an event is fully booked, we will put you on the waiting list. You will then move up if a place becomes available again in time before the start of the event.

Are the premises accessible without barriers?

The premises of Poppelsdorfer Allee 31-33 will be barrier-free in the near future. At the moment construction work ist still taking place. If required please contact us in advance.

Is childcare available during the event?

If you need childcare during an event, please contact the Family Office of the University of Bonn.

Are external persons also allowed to participate in the event?

In order to be able to participate in the training offers of the Human Resources Development of the University of Bonn, you must have an employment contract with the University of Bonn, be an enrolled PhD student, be active in research for the University of Bonn or be an associated member of a research network.

What does certificate or certificate of attendance mean?

For all our event offerings, you will generally receive a confirmation of participation in the event and of its contents.

We also offer a certificate program along the three "Career Tracks": "Research", "Research Management" and "Business & Organizations". For more information, please see the corresponding page of the certificates. If the currently displayed training course can be credited to one of the three "tracks", this is indicated accordingly.
