  • Quantum Chemical Analyses of Novel Bonds
Our research focuses on new chemical bonds between the elements of the periodic table, which lead to new compounds with unusual structures and novel reactivity. The studies primarily include complexes featuring triple bonds between transition metals and the elements Si – Pb, and unsaturated compounds of silicon in low oxidation states, which enable the activation of small molecules, such as H2, N2 or CO2. In addition to the diverse synthetic and analytical spectroscopic methods under strictly anaerobic conditions, quantum chemical methods are used to understand the nature of the new chemical bonds.
