Effectively Shaping your own professorship

A workshop offered by the Human Resources Development

The two-day workshop provides a basis for the efficient and effective organization of one's own leadership area and focuses on both management and leadership tasks as a newly appointed (junior) professor. The workshop opens up possibilities for peer discussion and joint reflection on one's own actions with other colleagues.

Individual coaching on one of the two days in the afternoon is optional. Each coaching session lasts 60 minutes. The following coaching slots are available 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. | 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. | 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. | 5:15 – 6:15 p.m. Please indicate which of the coaching slots you would prefer.

Day 1

Strategic orientation and optimization of (chair) tasks and processes
Structural framework for good leadership

Day 2

Getting to know individual leadership instruments
Communicative aspects of good leadership
Expectations within and outside the team
Setting common goals
Communication during conflicts

Coaching

On both afternoons of Day 1 and Day 2, one-on-one coaching sessions are offered to work on individual leadership topics. These can be booked individually with the trainer as needed.

Is there a charge for the event?

No. Human Resources Development will cover the costs.

An event is fully booked, is there a waiting list?

Yes, if an event is fully booked, we will put you on the waiting list. You will then move up if a place becomes available again in time before the start of the event.

Are the premises accessible without barriers?

The building at Poppelsdorfer Allee 31/33 is moderately accessible for people with disabilities. Please contact us in advance so that we can help you if necessary.

Is childcare available during the event?

If you need childcare during an event, please contact the Family Office of the University of Bonn.

Are external persons also allowed to participate in the event?

In order to be able to participate in the training offers of the Human Resources Development of the University of Bonn, you must have an employment contract with the University of Bonn, be an enrolled PhD student, be active in research for the University of Bonn or be an associated member of a research network.
