What is the RWM and what does it do?

The Basic Regulations of the University of Bonn stipulate that "in order to deal with common matters and to support the work in the member groups ... the representatives in the Senate, the Faculty Councils as well as the electoral body for the election of the central Equal Opportunities Officer ... can join together and elect spokespersons" (§6 GO).

For the status group of academic staff (WiMis), this is implemented by the "Council of Academic Staff", or RWM for short.

Information is not everything, but information is many things: The exchange of information about the work of the WiMis in the faculties, central areas as well as the senate is a focus of the work of the RWM. In the regularly held meetings, space is given to the discussion of current developments that go beyond the scope of individual faculties. RWM members can also take the initiative in commenting on important university issues. The entire initiative relies on participation: The more people get involved, the better the prospects of having our concerns heard.

The RWM is constituted as a body of elected self-governing representatives, but sees itself as open to all interested academic staff. Thus, WiMis without a valid mandate are also welcome to attend the meetings as guests. If you are interested in the work of the committees, please feel free to join us!
