Our work focuses on the use of human pluripotent stem cells for neuroregeneration and CNS disease modeling. To that end we employ classic iPSC reprogramming and neural differentiation, transcription factor-based forward programming and direct somatic cell fate conversion. Neuronal and glial subtypes are used to devise new transplant strategies and to study mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases in 2D and 3D cell culture models.
