Market conditions for greater sustainability
How can the transition to more environmentally, socially, and economically responsible production be achieved across all stages of the agricultural and food value chains? Monika Hartmann, who has been appointed to the Bioeconomy Council of North Rhine-Westphalia, is investigating this question together with her team. Among other things, she is examining the acceptance and perception of bio-based innovations—because new products and processes can only have an impact if they are actually used by the relevant stakeholders.

Teamwork is important and fun
For Monika Hartmann, teamwork is important for success in science. It allows different areas of expertise to be combined and synergies to be achieved. Complex issues can often only be solved by working together with colleagues from different disciplines. It is also more fun to work together on exciting challenges, motivate each other, and share successes.
