Preliminary Course "Latin for Beginners (Latin I, Intensive Course)"

Course description

Are Latin skills required for your degree program? You know little or no Latin and want to start learning Latin before the semester begins to reduce your work load during the semester? Then the preliminary course Latin for Beginners (Latin I, Intensive Course) is the perfect choice for you! Over four weeks and a total of 60 hours of instruction, you will get a concise introduction to the basic principles of the Latin language. At the end of the course, you have the option of taking a written examination. The goal of the course is to achieve the Latin proficiency required for admission to the Latin II course (university-based “Latinum” certificate), which you can take at a later stage during your studies. Up to 120 places are available for this course, divided into two groups.

Please note: The following textbook is required for this course: Latinum B, ISBN 978-3525714034. Please buy this book before the course begins so that you can participate in class from day one.

If you pass the written examination, you may receive 6 CP in the Faculty of Arts’ Interdisciplinary Practice Area. Clickherefor information about the Interdisciplinary Practice Area.
