Of cyborgs and transhumanism - a disability studies perspective
Cyborgs Theories and fantasies of transhumanism are currently on everyone's lips - also and increasingly in the context of efforts to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities. But to what extent can new technological possibilities be used to actually improve the living conditions of people with disabilities? The lecture offers a critical perspective from the field of Disability Studies and aims to analyze and discuss both beneficial and hindering factors of rehabilitation sciences and related disciplines for the inclusion of people with disabilities.
