“We gained a wealth of impressions and made contacts with people who work in the economic sector and gave us good tips on how to move forward with our project,” says Prof. Dr. Diana Imhof from the start-up SpotHeme and head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry and Bioanalytics at the University of Bonn. Among other things, she is also looking for potential co-founders and is confident that she will find them at the career forum. And Bonn computer science alumnus Timon Stronczek from the start-up WerksHub emphasizes: “The event is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and find people you wouldn't otherwise find so easily.”
Start-ups up close
The start-up teams presented their ideas and visions in a relaxed atmosphere at individual stations. All participants were able to move between the tables or specifically target start-ups that matched their field of expertise or interests. The focus was on jobs, internships, working student positions, or even a position as a co-founder. But the event also attracted visitors who simply wanted to get a taste of the start-up scene: “I'm here today because I find it interesting to talk to start-ups. There are so many different people with different mindsets gathered here that you can learn a lot about other ways of thinking. We definitely have a lot to talk about!” said one participant.
"We are overwhelmed by the great interest in our start-up career forum. This shows us that we have struck a chord and that there are many people at the University of Bonn and in the region who are interested in start-ups and who benefit from such a platform. Plans for a follow-up event in 2026 are already underway," explains Dr. Alexander Küsshauer, start-up advisor at the Transfer Center enaCom, who co-organized the event.
