Bonn’s Domestic Service Robots Defend Their Title
The University of Bonn´s NimbRo team convincingly defended its @Home League championship title at the RoboCup German Open, finishing well ahead of the runner-up. From March 10 to 14, the service robots demonstrated their capabilities in everyday environments. They understood complex voice commands, navigated safely through a simulated apartment and an unfamiliar restaurant, delivered orders, and removed laundry from the washing machine.

The University of Bonn is participating in the newly established Max Planck School of Biomedical Artificial Intelligence. This Germany-wide graduate program brings together outstanding researchers from universities and non-university research institutions to conduct research at the intersection of biomedicine and artificial intelligence.
System Accreditation: Seal of Quality for the University of Bonn, a University of Excellence
It is official, since mid-March: The University of Bonn is system-accredited. This means that the internal quality assurance system for teaching and learning, devised in a participative process, has been recognized as efficient, reliable and fit for the future. The University is thus now authorized to award the seal of the Accreditation Council to its own degree programs on the basis of clearly defined standards that are binding nationwide, after conducting a corresponding internal review.
