Space for nesting in our gardens and outdoors is becoming more scarce for insects. Many of them, such as wild bees, are in danger of extinction. Bug hotels provide bees and other insects space for nesting. Selecting the right material and using it correctly is essential for insects to make it feel like home.
There were no limits set to participants’ imagination and creativity in making species-appropriate bug hotels. The three most successful participants were presented with a prize for their fabulous work.
