“Trading Lecture Hall for an Adventure! — A Special Photo from Your Stay Abroad”. Photo contest for the 2024 International Study and Internship Fair.

Have you studied abroad for one or two semesters or completed an international internship? Or perhaps you are still abroad right now, or you have come to the University of Bonn for a semester as a visiting exchange student.

Whatever the specifics of your stay, your time abroad undoubtedly helped you grow as a person, tested your language skills and led you to explore culture from various angles. Share your most impressive photo from your stay abroad with us—the photo that best illustrates these aspects and could optimally inspire fellow students to pursue international opportunities as well.

Note: The photo title is to be illustrative of the contest theme.

Who is eligible to enter the contest?

All students enrolled at the University of Bonn.

Selection

The team at the University of Bonn International Office will choose three winners. The winning photos will be published on our website and social media accounts!

Prizes

First prize: €150 \ Second prize: €100 \ Third prize: €50

Technical specifications

You have complete freedom as to photo format and alignment—you decide whether it is landscape or portrait.

Design

You may only submit photos that you have taken yourself (i.e. not ones taken by a professional photographer). Do not submit photos with captioning text or collages of multiple images, as these will not be considered. It would be great if a person was included in the photo (e.g. yourself).

Image data quality

Important: The photos you submit should be of the highest possible data quality in terms of resolution for publishing purposes. The preferred file size is 2.5–5.0 MB, but larger files may be accepted.

Submission deadline

You may upload your submission photos to Sciebo up until the deadline of April 24, 2024. Sciebo is the campus cloud solution which all matriculated University of Bonn students can access. Registering for a Sciebo account is easy, using your Uni ID.

Save the completed and signed declaration of consent as a PDF and upload it to this folder on Sciebo.

Please ensure to add your names as an extension to the file name (photos and declaration of consent) to ease the process.

Rest assured that you will only able be to see your own submission, of course not the ones made by other participants.

Declaration of consent

We can only use your photo after you send us the declaration of consent form completed and signed.

Important note: Submitting the declaration of consent is a mandatory prerequisite for participating in the photo contest.
