Ideas competitions 2025
Take part in the ideas competition and submit your idea sketch by November 10 to secure your place in the final on December 2 at DIGITALHUB Bonn. In addition to valuable feedback from a jury of experts, there are attractive prizes to be won and the opportunity to further develop and implement your idea with support.
Another highlight is the Impact Pitch Night on November 18 at DIGITALHUB Bonn. Here you can present your idea live in front of an audience and jury if you want to make a difference in society or sustainability. The three best ideas will win prize money of up to €3,000.
For founders and start-ups
Whether you have just had your first business idea or have already founded a company, many events are specifically aimed at start-up teams or those interested in founding a company. In workshops, you will gain valuable insights into topics such as company valuation, funding opportunities, legal frameworks, and sales strategies. There are also creative formats such as the workshop on idea generation with ChatGPT on October 22.
Qualification opportunities for young scientists
The program also offers a wide range of workshops for young scientists during or after their doctorate. In “Unlock Your Inner Sciencepreneur: LEGO® Serious Play Workshop” or “Your Science as a Board Game: A Beginner's Workshop in Game Design,” you can develop new perspectives in a playful way. By participating, you can earn credits toward the Doctorate Plus certificate program.
Networking and gathering inspiration
In addition to workshops and talks, various networking events such as “Meet the Boss” or the start-up get-together invite you to engage in direct exchange with entrepreneurs, investors, and other innovators. This gives you the opportunity to make contacts and further develop your start-up or research project in a targeted manner. The regular start-up get-together offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and gather inspiration. It takes place every second Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Digital Hub at Bonn Central Station and is jointly organized by DIGITALHUB, the University of Bonn, and Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
Participation and registration
The events—some of which are held in English—are practical and interdisciplinary. They teach the basics, methods, and tools, but also make it fun to break new ground and develop creative ideas. Anyone interested is welcome to attend, regardless of prior knowledge. Registration via the website is required.
The Transfer Center enaCom supports knowledge and technology transfer at the University of Bonn and advises on questions relating to start-ups, inventions, and innovations from research.
