Sustainable AI Lab officially launched Sustainable AI Lab officially opened

Highly regarded guests discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on society at the University of Bonn

Now the Sustainable AI Lab at the University of Bonn is officially launched being a space for excellent researchers from different fields to work, collaborate, and brainstorm about the environmental, social, and economic costs of designing, developing, and using AI across society.

The lab is an initiative of AI ethicist Prof. Dr. Aimee van Wynsberghe and was made possible by funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation - van Wynsberghe has held a Humboldt Professorship at the University of Bonn for about a year. The official opening of the lab brought together highly regarded speakers like Katja Dörner, Mayor of Bonn, Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of UN Climate Change, Dr. Enno Aufderheide, Secretary General of the Humboldt Foundation and Jan Kleijssen, Council of Europe.
