For the prize contest, transfer projects that make a difference are sought. Transfer can take many forms besides finding applications for scientific advances, including when research serves as a catalyst for societal change, cultural engagement or political participation. To qualify projects must have impact beyond the confines of theory and academia, radiating into the wider world.

University of Bonn staff who have managed a completed transfer project or are managing a transfer project nearing completion are eligible to apply, either individually or as a team. The winning projects receive 10,000 euros in prize funding. An award ceremony will be held in winter 2025.
