Professor Anna-Katharina Hornidge has been at the University of Bonn since 2020 and also holds the post of Director of IDOS. In her research, she focuses on the role played by various kinds of knowledge in and for processes of change and on questions of natural resource governance in agricultural and marine contexts, primarily in Southeast and Central Asia and in West and East Africa.
The members of the WBGU were newly appointed in November 2024 for a term of office running until October 2028. Also on the advisory council are the professors Aletta Bonn (Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research, Leipzig and German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, Halle–Jena–Leipzig), Kai Maaz (Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education, Frankfurt am Main), Karen Pittel (ifo Institute and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), Hans-Otto Pörtner (Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven), Sabine Schlacke (University of Greifswald), Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann (University of Augsburg) and Joscha Wullweber (Witten/Herdecke University).
