Prospective students will once again have the opportunity to get some tips on choosing the right degree program this year during the University of Bonn’s “Academic Advising Night,” which will be held in German. Anyone with questions about studying will be able to find answers from the various information stands, brief talks and consultations on offer. The event is free and will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, June 15, outside the lecture halls on the Poppelsdorf Campus.

After their Abitur and just before the application deadline for subjects with restricted admission, prospective students often have a great many questions: What academic discipline will suit me, and what qualifications do I need for it? How can I get a course schedule? How can I fund my degree program? And what general things should I bear in mind to get my studies off to a good start?

Everyone involved in the “Academic Advising Night” is keen to help and support prospective students and make it easier for them to choose a degree program and get started. To this end, numerous information and advice stands on general topics such as what study options are available, how to apply and enroll and much more will be on hand outside the lecture halls on the Poppelsdorf Campus from 5 pm to 8 pm on June 15. The helpers will include representatives from the subject-specific study advisory services, the Student Registry, the Career Service and the Central Study Advisory and Counseling Service. There will also be informative brief talks in the new lecture center to provide study guidance.

With its “Academic Advising Night,” the University of Bonn is taking part in the state-wide initiative run by study advisory and counseling services at universities across North Rhine-Westphalia. No registration is required.
