NeurotechEU, aka the European University of Brain and Technology, is one of 41 European University alliances funded by the EU, formed to enhance European competitiveness in brain science by achieving advances in applied neurology and producing scientists capable of developing solutions for societal health problems.
The coordinating institution of NeurotechEU is Radboud University of Nijmegen (Netherlands); to date, the consortium members are: the University of Bonn, the University of Oxford (UK), Karolinska Institute (Sweden), Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain), Bogazici University (Turkey), Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Romania) and the University of Debrecen (Hungary).
The international campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech-Lorraine, acceded to NeurotechEU as new alliance partner at the conference.
A workshop was held with speakers from the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and the European Commission devoted chiefly to developing course offerings for the NeurotechEU Life-Long Learning Center, which is a central structure within the alliance. The second day of the Conference discussion focused on potential changes to the legal organizational form and organizational structuring of NeurotechEU. The meeting ended with the university management signing a seven-point declaration setting out the alliance’s core values and goals.
