In 2023, the Life Science Informatics (LSI) curriculum at B-IT celebrated its 20th anniversary. Three professors initiated a symposium reflecting the program's core mission: educating professionals for industrial and translational research. The event's success led to it becoming an annual fixture.

The "AI in Life Sciences and Medicine" symposium bridges academia and industry, fostering interdisciplinary exchange between life sciences, medicine, and computer science.

This year's program covers two key themes:
Day 1 – Making Data Ready for AI
Data readiness is explored from technical, legal, and ethical perspectives. Experts share practical examples of how AI-ready infrastructures are implemented in real-world settings.
Day 2 – Transformative AI Applications in Biomedicine
Foundation Models, Causal Inference, and Digital Twins take center stage. A concluding panel discussion addresses how AI systems can transition from research into clinical practice.
