Bonn Talks in Cultural Semiotics and Contemporary Media
Let's talk: To kick off a new series of lectures and discussions on contemporary media and sign production, cultural semiotician Prof. Massimo Leone (Turin) and film scholar Dr. Lucas Curstädt (Bonn) will talk about the human and transhuman face, its display and imitation in a hypercapitalist and digitalised world.
Starting this summer, the Bonn Talks in Cultural Semiotics and Contemporary Media will bring together experts from Bonn with colleagues from other German and international universities several times a semester. By doing so, the Faculty of Humanities is opening a window onto its own work for academics, students and the wider public. In conversation with each other and with the audience, renowned scholars of linguistics, literature, media, film and cultural studies will show how we can engage with the overwhelming presence of invested interests in cultural productions of our present day.
