Alexandra Philipsen is Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital Bonn. She received her doctorate in 1998 in the field of Neuropediatrics. In 2009 she completed her “habilitation” on the etiology, diagnostics and treatment of adult ADHD. From 1999 until 2014, she worked at the Psychiatric Department of the University of Freiburg. From 2014-2017 she was the first director of the newly founded Psychiatric Department of the European Medical School Oldenburg-Groningen, and Vice-Dean of the Medical Faculty. Her research interests focus on the development of novel treatments for developmental and stress-associated psychiatric disorders, especially ADHD and disorders associated with emotional dysregulation and high impulsivity. In our Department we pursue a translational, transdiagnostic, and interdisciplinary approach.
