Description

This workshop offers doctoral students an inspiring and playful space to explore how they may create impact with their research beyond academia. Using gamified methods and techniques from creative ideation, such as LEGO® Serious Play®, participants will experiment during the workshop in a playful way with different perspectives on their research, uncover unexpected transfer opportunities and playfully develop possible pathways of their own research into practice.

Content

After the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Reflect on the transfer potential of their own research and recognize possible fields and contexts where it could create value for stakeholders
  • Explore transfer pathways and discover opportunities beyond academia using gamified methods and creativity techniques
  • Manifest their envisioned transfer activities in physical and conceptual prototypes, via creative methods such as LEGO® Serious Play®
  • Communicate the transfer potential of their research in an accessible and engaging way to people outside their own academic field
  • Use gamified tools and creativity methods to replicate the learned insights at home and in daily work life
