Pheno-Inspect's fully automated AI platform helps farmers make their operations more efficient. The team uses drone and satellite images to analyze plant populations and optimize crop production, breeding, and field trials. In this way, the platform contributes to sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

The start-up was founded in 2020 by Dr. Philipp Lottes, who was then a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation at the University of Bonn, where he investigated the topic in the Photogrammetry and Robotics working group, and Prof. Dr. Cyrill Stachniss, who provides scientific support for the project. He heads the working group and is also spokesperson for the Cluster of Excellence “Robotics and Phenotyping for Sustainable Crop Production” at the University of Bonn.
