Southeast Asian Studies

The bachelor's degree program Southeast Asian Studies in the dual-subject option is half study of the region with a social scientific and ethnological orientation and half language and linguistics. Students in this program learn either Indonesian or Vietnamese. Moreover, the program is application-oriented. Their initial language skills and content-based modules enable students in various occupational fields to understand and analyze social developments and their contexts in the region in an interculturally competent and flexible manner. Students also learn the fundamentals of scientific work.

In addition to the Southeast Asian studies content per se, students also acquire intercultural competence and in general the ability to work through questions scientifically and methodically, thinking critically and reflectively.

This subject must be combined with a second subject
